2013 KY Middle School Football State Championship

2013 KYMSFA Middle School Football State Championship Weekend November 2nd (7th Grade Games at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Lexington Catholic High School) (8th Grade Games – See Game Schedule – Bryan Station High School – 1st game kick-off at 9:00 a.m.) November 3rd State Championship at Bryan Station High School – Opening Ceremony at 12:00 noon.

2012 ALL-STATE TEAMS ANNOUNCED

The Kentukcy Middle School Football Association is proud to announce the list of players chosen to the 2012 All-State Teams for 7th Grade, 8th Grade Div III, Div II and Div I.  Congratulations to all of the players who made the list for an outstanding year of football.  Each player on the All-State Team(s) will receive an automatic invitation to participate in the East-West All-Star Classic & Combine which will be held in Frankfort over the Thanksgiving Weekend – Nov 23-25.  The Association will also be holding its annual Banquet at the Frankfort Convention Center on Saturday, November 24th (doors open at 7:00 p.m.) where these players will receive their awards.  Players on the KY Teams and the East-West Teams will also be in attendance.  The Banquet will include keynote speakers who will provide words of widsom and guidance to the middle school players.  This year the Association is proud to announce that retired coach and mentor Randy Reese, together with former UK standout football great Freddie Maggard.

Any player from a member school of the Association may participate in the Combine which will be held Saturday morning in the Frankfort Convention Center.  Please e-mail kymsfa@kymiddleschoolfootball.com if you would like to participate in the Combine and were not selected on the East-West Team(s) or the KY Team(s).

REGIONAL CHAMPIONS HEAD TO KYMSFA STATE SEMI-FINALS

The 7th Grade and 8th Grade DIV I, II and III Regional Champions head to the Kentucky Middle School Football Association State Semi-Finals to be held at Lexington Catholic High School on Saturday, November 3rd.  The 7th Grade semi-final games begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue throughout the day.  Specific game times are listed on the playoff bracket attached.

Congratulations to all of the teams and cheer squads heading to Lexington.

KY TEAM Places 3rd in National Tournament

The Kentucky Middle School Football Association 8th Grade KENTUCKY TEAM placed 3rd in the 1st National Tournament.   Round 4 and 5 was held in San Antonio, Texas in conjunction with the U.S. Army All-American Bowl (high school) and the Eastbay All-American Bowl (middle school).   The KY TEAM lost the 1st game in San Antonio to Oregon and then went on to defeat Massachusetts in the 2nd game.   Florida and Texas played in the Championship game with Florida taking the 1st National Title.  Congratulations to all of the players (and their parents) and coaches for representing our great Commonwealth in such a distinguished fashion.

A special thank you to all of the people and businesses that donated funds and items to permit the KENTUCKY Team to participate and have such a great experience.

KENTUCKY DEFEATS MISSOURI – SAN ANTONIO BOUND

The Kentucky Middle School Football Association 8th Grade KENTUCKY TEAM defeated the 8th Grade MISSOURI TEAM 22-20 in a game that came down to the wire.  The KENTUCKY TEAM is now San Antonio bound for Round 4 and 5 in its effort for a National Title.  The team will travel to San Antonio, Texas after New Year’s and have an opportunity to participate in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl week of events.   Please follow the action and support the KENTUCKY TEAM as they advance to the final rounds for a National Title.

Kentucky vs. Missouri December 17th at 3:00 p.m. C.S.T.

The Kentucky Middle School Football Association 8th Grade Kentucky Team will play Missouri on Saturday, December 17th in St. Louis at the Edwardsville Sports Complex.  Kick-off is 3:00 p.m. C.S.T.

KY TEAMS WIN – 8TH DEFEATS WI 40-7 7th DEFEATS MN 30-28

The KYMSFA Kentucky Teams won both games in the 2nd Round of the FBU National Championship.  The 7th Grade Kentucky Team defeated the 7th Grade Minnesota Team 30-28 in a tremendous comeback.  The 8th Grade Kentucky Team defeated the 8th Grade Wisconsin Team 40-7 in a route.  The KY 8th Grade Team will advance to the 3rd Round of the Playoffs and play Missouri in St. Louis on Saturday, December 17th.  If they win the next round, the KY Team will advance to San Antonio, as part of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl weekend, for a chance as one of five remaining teams to win a National Title.

KY TEAMS TO PLAY WISCONSIN AND MINNESOTA ON DECEMBER 10th at LAFAYETTE HS

The Kentucky Middle School Football Association Kentucky Teams will play in the 2nd Round of the FBU National Championship on December 10th at Lafayette High School in Lexington, Kentucky.  The 7th Grade Kentucky Team will take on the Minnesota 7th Grade Team at 1:00 p.m. followed by the 8th Grade Kentucky Team against the Wisconsin 8th Grade Team at 3:00 p.m.  Please come out and support great Kentucky football and our fine young men.

East West All-Star Classic Weekend

The East West All-Star Classic Weekend over Thanksgiving weekend was a great success.  The Weekend included over 220 middle school football players from all over the Commonwealth and included a combine and banquet in the Frankfort Convention Center.  Guest speakers included master of ceremonies and broadcaster Steve Tressler, Coach William Leach, former UK standout and NFL alumni/NFLPA UK Chapter President Marty Moore (Patriots) and former wider receiver from the Philadephia Eagles, Je’Mone Smith.  The Weekend also included the Kentucky 7th and 8th Grade Teams beating the Illinois 7th and 8th Grade Teams on Saturday, followed by the 7th and 8th Grade East vs. West games on Sunday at Kentucky State University.

A special thanks to KSU for use of the Alumni Stadium, the Frankfort Convention Center, Capital Plaza Hotel and all of the countless volunteers who contributed their time and talent to make this weekend a special event in the lives of these fine young men and their families.

FBU National Championship KY vs Illinois

We are proud to report that the KYMSFA 7th and 8th Grade Kentucky Teams defeated the 7th and 8th Grade Illinois Teams in the 1st Round of the National Championship.  The 7th Grade Kentucky Team defeated the 7th Grade Illinois Team 30-0 and the 8th Grade Kentucky Team defeated the 8th Grade Illinois team 44-0.  The 8th Grade Kentucky Team will take on the Wisconsin Team at home on December 10th.  The 7th Grade Kentucky Team will be matched with either Georgia, Wisconsin or Minnesota with the game to be played at home on December 10th.  Stay tuned for more information as the Kentucky Teams show that Kentucky does have great football.  The Kentucky players just need opportunities presented in the other states.
